U'sual Champions League semi-final on 21:55 - May 13 with 324 views | wessex_exile | So, with the sound of the final whistle fading as I post, it has been an exhilarating finish to the U'sual Champions League semi-finals, and it really couldn't have been any closer. At close of business on Tuesday night, with Bayern Munich claiming the pyrrhic victory over Barca courtesy of Lewandowski and Muller's comeback goals - to win 3-2 - Gate16 and Sector4 were level pegging on 4-4, and The Net clung on to a slim lead (despite no score on the night) 4-3 ahead of RS, who had the home win outcome. Tonight, the only competitor to predict a draw was RS with 0-0, and his cheeky punt on a goalscorer for a 0-0 (Tevez) might just have paid off, had it not been Morata scoring the goal for a 1-1 draw. Although no one else scored on the outcome, Gate16 and The Net both correctly predicted Ronaldo to score (from the spot as it happens), to pick up crucial single points each. So, the result of the semi-finals is as follows: Gate16....5 v 4....Sector4 The Net...5 v 4....RS Cosworth Congratulations to Gate16 and The Net, who progress to the final, and commiserations to Sector4 and RS Cosworth on being worthy opponents. Details on requirements for the final (and indeed the 3rd place play-off) to follow in due course. | |
