Week 16 Results

BURNLEY 1 MANCHESTER CTY 2

Aguero scored both goals, as Man City came from behind to beat Burnley. There were 3 who had this spot-on, and a further 17 had the outcome.

LEICESTER 2 MIDDLESBROUGH 2
A penalty in the 94th minute rescues a point for Leicester. This was their eighteenth penalty in the last two seasons, more than any other Premier League team. Nobody had this spot-on, but 5 did get the outcome. There were 18 who predicted a win for Leicester, with 12 going for 2-1, making it this weeks most predicted result.

DERBY 1 NORWICH 0
A Johnson goal gives Derby their fourth straight win, and condemns his former club Norwich to their fifth successive loss. Just the 2 (ethicsgirl and noah4x4) got this spot-on, but there were 15 who had the outcome.

WOLVES 0 SHEFFIED WEDNESDAY 2
it is now nine games without a win for Paul Lambert's Wolves, after this defeat. Another game where nobody got 3 points, though 8 did have the outcome.

BURY 2 MILLWALL 3
Millwall got a 92nd minute winner, as they came from two goals down, to beat 10-man Bury. This defeat means Bury have now lost their last ten games, and set a new club-record losing run. It has seen them drop from 2nd to 20th. Well done to Blue4U2 for being the only one to have this spot-on, but 18 did have the outcome.

CHESTERFIELD 3 BRISTOL ROVERS 2
Chesterfield are another team this week who came from behind to win. Again nobody got this spot-on, but 7 did have the outcome.

BLACKPOOL 4 NEWPORT 1
Blackpool make Newpot pay for missing a penalty when the score was at 1-1. Again very well done to Blue4U2 for being the only one to have this spot-on. Deserved more than 3 points for finding this. There were 19 who got the outcome.

CARLISLE 5 MANSFIELD 2
Carlisle go top of the table, after this impressive victory. Not surprisingly nobody got this spot-on, but a big 22 did have the outcome.

COLCHESTER 4 CREWE 0
Biggest win of the season for the U's. Who saw that coming? Well durham_exile did, as he was brilliantly the only one to get 3 points for this, though 9 did have the outcome.

EXETER 0 LUTON 0
Exeter get just their second home point of the season, with this bore draw. For the fifth time this week nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome. There were 14 who predicted a victory for Luton.

This was a week where many of the games went to form, but a disaster for finding those important 3 pointers, with just the 8 in total. But with a massive 125 other outcomes, making up for this shortfall, it was still a repectable week for most. With such a dirge of 3 pointers, Blue4U2 did remarkable to find two of them, and with five other outcomes he is this weeks top scorer with an excellent 11 points. Other meritorious performances came from ethicsgirl, Gate16, durham_exile and noah4x4, who all had six other outcomes to go with their one 3 pointer, and a very good 9 points each.

In the Premier, with the top two both scoring 6 points, burnsieespana maintains his two point lead. The final Charity Shield spot is reclaimed by Gate16, but only on the first to post rule from ethicsgirl. Further down the league wessex_exile edges up another place, to ease his relegation worries. The bottom three remains the same, but it is the turn of jonestones to occupy the bottom spot.

In Division One, with a mixture of decent scores, and members failing to post their predictions, there is a lot of movement in this league. It is calm waters at the top, with the top three remaining the same, and basher2010 increasing his lead by a point. It is further down the league where all the action takes place, with Blue4u2 making big waves with his top scoring effort, that sees him moving up a big six places. After loitering down the bottom all season, he now finds himself just two points off the play-offs. That final play-off spot is now held by noah4x4, after he followed his beloved U's by getting a 3 pointer, and moves up five places. The other significant move came from mrhappy, who continued his recent improved form, with a good 7 points taking him up another three places, and just a point from the play-offs. No surprise to find the big fallers this week were due to no shows from concordman, down six, and gerry_us, down five.

The latest on Champions League qualification, with only four weeks to go now, sees that all important eleventh spot is now held by wessex_exile. That means eight of the twelve qualifiers currently come from the Premier.

THE TABLES (116 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
