A new record? 22:36 - Jan 26 with 603 views | Leadbelly | The match against Wycombe, rearranged for 7 February, has been postponed again due to their multiple cup commitments (what are they? - ed) This means it will be 5 weeks between home league fixtures. Has there ever been such an extended period previously, without cancellations due to adverse weather? | |

I saw the 4-3 defeat of Wycombe by Spurs reserves. Some brutal Division two football. Neither Spurs or referee dealt with it very well. Admittedly until Spurs brought on Dele Alli and Dembele, the home team were awful. But Wycombe's finishing was just clinical. Then once ahead the Wycombe tactics were cynical. Brutal tackling, twice in rugby style (how did the culprits stay on the pitch?). Akinfenwa won almost everything aerial, by using elbows, arse and any other weapon he could muster. Interestingly, it wasn't until he went off holding his hamstring did the Spurs real fightback begin. They simply could not handle him. Frankly, I am glad we didn't play them on the day. But at the final whistle the Wycombe players looked utterly spent and demoralised. Let's hope they stay that way, and Akinfenwa on the injury list for a while. Then saw Fulham v Hull on Sunday 4-1. What a contrast. Delightful passing football by both. Clean tackling, good spirit, and Hull played 9 regulars. Despite that, they were awful and Fulham the best display I have seen all season. But nobody will fancy Lincoln or Sutton next up. [Post edited 30 Jan 2017 16:37]
