Week 29 results

ARSENAL 2 BRENTFORD 1

A victory that moves Arsenal to within a point of the top four, and leaves Brentford without a win since 2nd January. A superb 6 got this spot-on, and a further 21 had the outcome, with 11 going for a 2-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score. They just missed out thanks to Brentford getting their goal in the 93rd minute.

SOUTHAMPTON 2 EVERTON 0
Southampton are now unbeaten in five matches in all competitions after this comfortable win. 3 had this spot-on, and another 14 got the outcome.

LUTON TOWN 2 WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0
Luton moved above West Brom in the Championship table with a victory that leaves the Baggies still looking for their first win and goal under Steve Bruce. 3 got this spot-on, and a further 9 had the outcome.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 2 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 0
Cambridge get a first win in seven games in all competitions. Only 2 had this spot-on, and another 12 got the outcome.

SUNDERLAND 1 MILTON KEYNES DONS 2
Connor Wickham came back to haunt his former club, as his second-half strike wins it for MK Dons. Struggling Sunderland score with their only shot on target. Only mfb_cufc got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Sunderland.

NEWPORT COUNTY 1 MANSFIELD TOWN 1
Ten-man Mansfield extended their unbeaten run in League Two to 12 games with this draw. Well done to RSCOSWORTH for surprisingly being the only one to have this spot-on, and 2 more got the outcome.

After that rare event of all six matches being goaless at half-time, the second-half produced at least two goals in each game. It was also the first time this season where every game achieved a 3 pointer. Given that, and considering there four well supported home wins, it was disappointing to have only got 16 spot-ons in total. Four members did well to get two 3 pointers, with the best coming from durham_exile, who had the 2-0 wins for Southampton and Luton, and three outcomes, to make him the weeks top scorer with an excellent 9 points.

In the Premier Four outcomes from those home wins for TheFatGooner made sure he would take his run at the top to eight weeks. That lead has been reduced by a couple of points as RSCOSWORTH got the Arsenal 2-1 spot-on, to go with that good Newport 1-1 prediction. The other Super Cup places, in third and fourth, are still occupied by concordman and unitedwhites, as they both benefit from getting the Arsenal 2-1 spot-on. With nobody scoring more than 6 points, the rest of the division remains unchanged from the previous week.

In Division One Two outcomes each for the top two means blueeagle remains top for the fourth week running, and Lewis_1 holds onto the other automatic spot. A very decent 8 points for thrillseeker, that included having the wins for Arsenal and Luton spot-on, moved him up another three places, to a season high third. By getting the Southampton 2-0 spot-on, wessex_exile remains fourth. In the final two play-off places are Tropical_Us and gerry_us, who both remain in contention for an instant return to the Premier. Just losing out on the most 3 pointer rule is Pinault_Noir, who was back to form with the Arsenal 2-1 spot-on, and MrHappy, who got a decent 7 points, by getting the 2-0 wins for Luton and Cambridge spot-on. Another to benefit from having the Arsenal 2-1 spot-on was burnsieespana, and that keeps him in sight of the play-offs. The highlight from the rest of the league was without doubt from durham_exile, and his top scoring performance moved him three places, and into his highest position since Week 10. Could this be a late run for the play-offs from him, something his beloved U's can forget for another season.

THE TABLES (210 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
