I think our ownership group are either thin skinned or completely naive. .
Any supporter with their head screwed on could’ve told Silverstein that messaging a teenage fan and being so “open” is a recipe for disaster. It demonstrates very poor judgment even if what he is saying is sensible (ie Russ is going to Saints and leaving us just like he did to MK, and wants to save face).

If it's true, Martin is finished at the club whether he goes to Southampton or not. Those tweets would seem to confirm that there has been a major falling out between Martin and our owners across the pond. The propaganda war has started.

Regardless of how innocent it is, texting teenage boys at 11 o clock at night about inner workings of the club is never a good look for the CEO (or whatever he is) of a multi million pound business.

As an owner you have to cover all the bases and think two or three steps ahead because the market for players and managers is so volatile. At the same time you need to provide an image of having things under control because ticket sales depend on confidence and results.

If it was true then Martin should have come out fighting, gone to the media and stated what happened. I'd have had more respect for him. He could even have said he'd be happy to stay, if it's true, whatever Southampton offered him. Or he could have been honest, whatever that means him saying.
As it is he looks a bit snide to me BUT what Silverstein has done completely overshadows that. it s a shite show for our club. If they owners cancelled talks because they want Martin to go so they get the compo it makes them look exactly like what some have called them, it looks like the money is all they want.

To me ,” blame” lies with both Martin and Owners.
Notwithstanding January,had he deployed more pragmatism into his tactics than we would easily have made play offs. A win win.
Where the owners went wrong was not firing him months ago,after the proper club drivel would have been ide@l.
Martin has been using the possession stats as a tool to get him noticed for a bigger job as he can blame a lack of support for any failure. The failure on the field is his alone.
He deployed Fisher but not Darling
His treatment of WhittKer has been appalling and his ignoring loan signings pitiful.
Remember Luton forking Town could be going up to the Premier league . That has been the standard of this championship.
