Week 16 results

BARNSLEY v CARLISLE UNITED POSTPONED
International call-ups

BLACKPOOL 4 SHREWSBURY TOWN 0
Jake Beesley's double helped Blackpool to their sixth home League One win of the season with this dominant victory. Nobody got this spot-on, but 22 did have the outcome, with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was equally the weeks most predicted score.

STEVENAGE 1 LINCOLN CITY 0
Jamie Reid was the goalscoring hero again as his finish gave Stevenage a victory which lifted them up to fourth in League One. A massive 10 had this spot-on, in what was the weeks other most predicted score, and a further 11 got the outcome.

GILLINGHAM 3 SALFORD CITY 1
Gillingham marked Stephen Clemence's first home league game in charge with a comfortable victory, as ex-U's target Tom Nichols got his first league goal of the season. Nobody got this spot-on, though 15 did have the outcome.

MANSFIELD TOWN 2 NEWPORT COUNTY 0
Mansfield remain unbeaten in League Two as Davis Keillor-Dunn's two goals, to give him eleven for the season, secured victory. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and another 16 got the outcome.

SUTTON UNITED 1 TRANMERE ROVERS 1
Tranmere finally picked up a first away point of the season with this draw, but were only moments away from claiming all three, as Sutton get a late equaliser for the second week running. A sublime 5 got this spot-on, and one more had the outcome.

With the Barnsley game being postponed, after this weeks fixtures had been issued, due to International call-ups, this left just two fixtures in League 1. Even League 2 lost three fixtures to the call-ups, and also a lot of other teams were missing one or two players as well. I think we are coming to the time when the whole league programme could be cancelled when these breaks come along. As for the five games that were played, they more than made up for the missing one, by producing a fantastic week, that was better than any six game week this season. Despite two games not having a 3 pointer, the other three achieved a superb 22 spot-ons. It was an almost faultless week from durham_exile, as he got all those 3 pointers, and the other two outcomes, to make him one of three members to get a full house this week, and made him the weeks top scorer, with a brilliant 11 points. The second member to have a full house was burnsieespana, who had the Stevenage 1-0 and the Sutton 1-1 spot-on, and the other three outcomes, to give him an excellent 9 points. The final member to get the full house was Blue4U2, who did best of those who had one 3 pointer, the Sutton 1-1, and four outcomes, to give him a decent 7 points. Three other members had two 3 pointers, they were mfb_cufc, Sector4 and bwildered, who each got the wins for Stevenage and Mansfield, and one outcome, to give them all a decent 7 points.

Happy Cup Details of the draw and fixtures for the 2nd Round can be found on the separate Happy Cup thread.

In the Premier Having the Mansfield 2-0 spot-on kept the phenomenal 3 pointer record going for concordman, and he increases his lead to a season high 13 points, as he takes advantage of unitedwhites firing his first blank since Week 12 in the 2021/22 season. Also taking advantage of that rare failure was thrillseeker, who moves back to the other Charity Shield spot again, that he last occupied in Week 4, after having the Stevenage 1-0 spot-on, and mfb_cufc, just losing out on that spot on the most 3 pointer rule. After spending five weeks in the runner-up spot, unitedwhites drops to fourth, just ahead of blueeagle on the first to post rule, who remains fifth, after getting the Stevenage 1-0 spot-on. That same 3 pointer keeps ghughes11 in sixth. Another to benefit from having the Stevenage 1-0 spot-on was oxfcolu, and he moved up a couple of places. The decent week for Sector4 moved him up a place, and although he remains in the bottom three, he is 2 points nearer to survival. It is obvious that GOSBTS will not be returning, so he is now relegated. He is most welcombe to return again next season.

In Division One Two outcomes were enough for basher2010 to remain top for the fifth week running, but his lead was reduced by a couple of points, as TheRams got the Mansfield 2-0 spot-on, to close the gap. That same 3 pointer helped move Jorash63 to within a point of the top two, and getting the Sutton 1-1 spot-on moved Daniel to within two points of the automatics. Four outcomes for Tropical_Us, and he remains fifth. Going 1-0 all games proved successful for BFG, and he moves up a place, and back into the final play-off spot, after spending seven weeks away. The full house for Blue4U2 moved him up a couple of places to seventh, just a point behind. That is ahead of wessex_exile on the most 3 pointer rule, whose eleven week run in the top six comes to an end. The decent week for bwildered moved him up three places to ninth. Having the Sutton 1-1 spot-on moved Lewis_1 up a place. That good full house for burnsieespana only moved him up a place, but more importantly moved him five points nearer to the play-offs. The brilliant top scoring performance from durham_exile finally got him off the bottom, and has suddenly giving him hope of making the play-offs, with more weeks like this.

THE TABLES (111 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
