RIP Gordon Pointer 20:10 - Feb 4 with 837 views | wessex_exile | Dear All In your thoughts tonight, please spare one for my friend Gordon Pointer - a passionate Gloucester City supporter and all-round thoroughly decent bloke (with a wicked sense of humour). Gordon passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last month at the tender age of just 60, and I have today returned from his funeral in Gloucester. It really bought a lump to my throat to not only see the church packed out, but so many in there wearing Gloucester City colours - he and his wife Sally were tireless in their efforts to provide whatever support they could for his club, fundraising, organising events, selling matchday raffle tickets, even cooking food for the teams after a game - the universal football family has lost a proper supporter. Very sad it makes you think, I am 60 in April my dad died at just 56 and I realised just how young that really was when I reached that age. RIP Gordon. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]
