Michael Owen 18:16 - Mar 20 with 440 viewsbwildered

Has a seventeen year old was his England goal against Argentina the pinnacle of his career. Playing for the major clubs he gained all the domestic and UEFA and Super Cup medals, but alas no Champions league and only one Premier league medal .
Career stats , 262 goals in 569 games, with 40 goals in 89 games for England, but again no World Cup or European Championship medals in the cupboard.
So with his impending retirement at the end of the season, does Michael Owen leave a striking legacy ?

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

Nothing personal against the giy but he made a career off the back of *that* goal and I don't think he ever lived up to the hype.

In his case I always think that the stats don't seem to tally with the player you see on the pitch. Never as dangerous or prolific as he ought to have been.

And he is an awful, bland pundit to boot. Hope he sticks to the gee gees and keeps a low profile.
