Hodgson set to ring England changes Monday, 23rd Jun 2014 10:00 by Richard Ault (Twitter @richardault83) England Coach Roy Hodgson is aiming to ensure all players who have travelled with the squad will get game time in Tuesday night’s dead rubber against Costa Rica. With England already eliminated and Costa Rica safely through, Hodgson is likely to give the likes of Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Jack Wilshere a start against the Central Americans. "I'm going to be picking the side with a view to making certain all the players, if possible, that have been with us here get some minutes on the field of play," said Hodgson. "If you interpret that as planning for the future I would understand but basically it's not planning the future and it's certainly not sentiment. "I'm making certain a group of players I personally believe have done everything they possibly could for me and my coaching team to give us some success on the field, coming home far too early and bitterly disappointed, get a chance at least to say 'that I wasn't just there for the ride'." Meanwhile England skipper Steven Gerrard will delay making a decision about his international future. Specualtion had suggested Gerrard would shortly announce his retirement. However, speaking to the media in Brazil, Gerrard said: "There is no truth I'll be making any announcement on my England future in the next week. I need more time than that.
