Spurs Defender Linked With Swans Switch
Tuesday, 23rd Jun 2015 22:43 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans have been linked with a move for Tottenham defender Milos Veljkovic who is set to go out on loan from White Hart Lane again this season having spent spells on loan last term at both Charlton and Middlesbrough.

Veljkovic has had quite a summer - he was part of the Serbian squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand and he has previously spoken about his desire to break into the Spurs team for next season.

However with the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Kevin Wimmer and Federico Fazio ahead of him and Spurs being linked with more central defenders it looks more likely that the 19 year old will be sent back out on loan for the new season.

Aston Villa, Swansea and Norwich City have now been linked with the defender although I have to say that I fail to see why we would want to bring someone in on loan when we have four central defenders of our own that would be ahead of the player. Game time would certainly be limited and unless Spurs wanted him to have reserve team action (they could keep him if that was the case) then what is the point in us even considering this as a move?

Speaking last month Veljkovic “Next season my goal is to play for Tottenham’s first team

“I played with Kane and Bentaleb a few years ago in the same team. Now I want to keep going hopefully on the pre-season tour I will impress the gaffer again.”

If nobody has any objections I am filing this one in the rubbish category.
