Don't get me wrong - I'd love to see Done back in a dale shirt. But Canavan is lower league 2 at best, 4th choice is shape shifting other players there.
Ditching Canavan, somehow, and bringing in a replacement - young player, broken toy, or whatever, needs to be number 1. |
I agree that Canavan must be shipped out, and replaced, if at all possible. However I wouldn't sign a centre back before getting rid of Canavan.
Players like Done don't become available to clubs like Dale often. We don't just know what he can do, we know what he can do for us, in our style of play, under our manager. We even know he can come back after being sold previously and do the job again. It would be madness to prioritise signing an unknown centre back over Done. Let's defend from the front!

I wonder how we will use the loan market this season, maybe a young championship/ prem defender could be the answer, with a view to future transfer. Id expect anything like that would be later the window though. A pacey winger and/or forward have to be the priorty at the moment. Saying that , it would hard to get Hendo in a full fit team if we get Done, youd imagine the new winger has to be a starter considering we paid actual money for him.
