Happy League 2017/18 Week 4 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 15.00 23:41 - Aug 26 with 1878 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 3 Results

CARDIFF 2 QPR 1

Cardiff came from behind to maintain their 100% start to the season. A big 8 got this spot-on, in what was equally the most predicted score this week, and a further 12 had the outcome.

SHEFFIELD UNITED 3 DERBY 1
Sheff Utd still have a 100% home record after this impressive win. Nobody had this spot-on, but there were 6 who got the outcome. There were 8 who predicted a 1-1 draw, in what was the weeks other most predicted result.

GILLINGHAM 3 SOUTHEND 3
Eaves gets a second-half hat-trick for Gillingham, as they get their first goals and first point in the League. Again no 3 pointers for anybody, though 5 did have the outcome.

OXFORD UNITED 1 SHREWSBURY 1
Shrewsbury's 100% record comes to an end, but they will still be pleased to come from behind to get a point. Just the 2 got this spot-on, and only 1 had the outcome. There were 19 who predicted a win for Oxford.

BARNET 0 STEVENAGE 1
Stevenage held on to beat their local rivals, despite playing with 10 men for 55 minutes. There were 3 who had this spot-on, and another 6 got the outcome. Another game where the 1-1 draw was a popular prediction, with 7 going for it.

NEWPORT 4 CHESTERFIELD 1
Another second-half hat-trick in our fixtures this week, this time for Nouble, as Newport come from behind, to christen their new pitch with a win. Nobody got this spot-on, but a decent 13 had the outcome.

In what was overall a pretty tough week, the Cardiff 2-1 win was the standout result, with nearly half the of the total weeks points coming from this one game. We finally had our first draws of the season, but for most members they came in the wrong games. The Gillingham 3-3 was going to be difficult to predict, and only two managed to have the Oxford 1-1. They were RSCOSWORTH, who also had the Cardiff 2-1 spot-on, and BFG, who also had the Stevenage 1-0 spot-on. They both also had one other outcome, to give them a decent 7 points, and a share in the honour of being the weeks top scorer. Also joining them in that share is gsy163, who got his 7 points by having the Cardiff 2-1 spot-on, and four other outcomes. Of the rest who got one spot-on, the best was Daniel, who was another one to benefit from the Cardiff 2-1, on his way to a very good 6 points.

In the Premier, it is only the first to post rule that helps mfb_cufc to maintain his lead, as the top scoring week from RSCOSWORTH joins him. One of the other top scorers gsy163, moves up just a point further back. It is deja vu for noah4x4, who struggled at the start of last season to get those vital 3 pointers, and this season is going the same way. Though again he has more outcomes than anybody in either division at this early stage. At the bottom, a missed week for jonestones hasn't helped his cause, and Colukev is struggling to find his good Division One form of recent seasons.

In Division One, a top scoring week from BFG increases his lead, as he continues his excellent start. Another good week for Daniel, puts him into the other automatic spot. More solid weeks from TheHappyGooner, gerry_us and concordman, keeps them well in contention, in the play-off spots. At the bottom medicine_man is need of an early season tonic, and he is the person to administer it.

THE TABLES (18 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)

My partner in crime has suddenly woken up and wants to change some scores - he failed to answer our agreed 48 response window hence the long ball this week.

I refused - Time will tell if I was right.
