Week 9 Results

DONCASTER 4 SOUTHEND 1

Doncaster come from behind to record their first home win in the league this season, as they thrash a Southend side who have a player sent off after the final whistle. Nobody got this spot-on, but 8 did have the outcome. There were 10 who predicted a win for Southend, and incredibly they all went for a 2-1, in what was the joint most predicted result this wee

MK DONS 1 BRADFORD CITY 4
A convincing win for Bradford who remain unbeaten away, against a MK Dons team who had to play for 85 minutes with 10 men. Again no 3 pointer for anybody here, though 11 did get the outcome.

SCUNTHORPE 1 WIGAN 2
Wigan are another side to have a player sent off, but it didn't stop them from winning. There were 5 who got this spot-on, with a further 9 having the outcome.

ACCRINGTON 0 LUTON 2
Luton replace Accrington in the automatic places with this win. Well done to gsy163 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and 6 had the outcome. There were 14 who predicted a win for Accrington, with 10 going for a 2-1, in what was the other most predicted result this week.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1 WYCOMBE 3
Wycombe win for the fourth successive game, and take their unbeaten away run to twelve, as they beat 10-man Cambridge. Nobody got this spot-on, but 6 did have the outcome.

MORECAMBE 0 CRAWLEY 1
A narrow win for Crawley against yet another team to have player sent off. Well done to thrillseeker for being the only one to have this spot-on, and just 2 got the outcome.

These were the toughest fixtures of the season so far to predict, with no "easy" games. Though if I had gone with the Notts County v Forest Green fixture, that drawn game would have been hard to predict. So we end up with five away wins, with only 10-man Wigan's 2-1 win giving much hope of finding a 3 pointer this week. The total of seven 3 pointers were shared with seven members getting one each. This lead to us having a five-way tie when it came to finding the weeks top scorer. Those five were Gate16, basher2010 and eagledares, who benefited from having the Wigan 2-1 spot-on, together with the above mentioned gsy163 and thrillseeker, who all got a very useful 5 points, in what was a low scoring week.

In the Premier, that useful week for gsy163 was enough to take him up three places, and to become the fourth different leader in this division in the the last four weeks. Though it is only by the the most 3 pointer rule that he edges out last weeks leader noah4x4. A blank week for RSCOSWORTH drops him three places, but still well in contention. A good week for thrillseeker has him in sight of the congestion at the top. I have not heard anything for a number of weeks from Colukev, so I sadly have to apply the four missed weeks in a row rule, and expel him from all Happy League competitions. It is a rule that when it has been applied in the past the member didn't want to carry on anyhow, but in this case I am not so sure. But with the Happy Cup due to start soon, I had no option, as the groups for that competition are due to be sorted shortly. That means with Colukev gone, there are now only two other relegation places to be decided. By getting the Wigan 2-1 spot-on sevebalo enhanced his chances of not being one of those two.

In Division One, just two outcomes for gerry_us, but it was enough to keep him top. Though only by a point from Daniel, who continued his good season by moving into the other automatic spot. The other member to benefit from having the Wigan 2-1 spot-on was durham_exile, and he cements his play-off spot with that. A very welcome 3 pointer (only his second one this season) for eagledares, moves him within a point of the play-offs, thanks to his artillery of outcomes. The useful week for basher2010 also puts him into play-off contention.

THE TABLES (62 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
