Injury updates 16:30 - Oct 12 with 3197 views | durham_exile | Some bad news, Kurtis Guthrie has received a setback in his return from long term injury whilst Doug Loft and Kane Vincent-Young are doubtful for Saturday. Let us hope that the club did not rush Guthrie back too soon. Confidence remains high for Saturday but let us get Guthrie fully fit before doing anything stupid and risking a longer spell on the sidelines. Up the U's

Injury updates on 14:01 - Oct 20 with 3062 views | Leadbelly | Guthrie now having "an injection" apparently. This worked last season with Eastman but yet to solve Prosser's problem(s). I do find the lack of information from the club, on all matters, not just injuries, to be rather frustrating. Below is a link to the NFL's injury report policy. It ensures everyone with any interest in the game knows exactly what is happening with all player injuries. No hiding place, no frustration for fans or media. h https://operations.nfl.com/media/2683/2017-nfl-injury-report-policy.pdfas

I'm not keen on players receiving injections Injections mask the pain which will ultimately result in injury actually becoming worse [Post edited 20 Oct 2017 16:31]

I thought McGreal was cunning before the Newport game. There are times when confidentiality about injuries keeps the opposition guessing..... Have you noticed that Newport County is ALWAYS the first game posted/highlighted on the BBC Division Two website? This suggests an over enthusiastic media department. Today is no exception, Newport is again first to post (e.g issue a press release) versus Mansfield. The earlier than all others Newport v Colchester preview announced Loft and KVY not fit, yet they played, as did Innis, whilst Drey Wright was unexpectedly injured. We were hence all surprised when the line up was announced. I would like to give credit to McGreal for keeping his cards close to his chest. Why give the opposition warning of likely formation and tactics before necessary? As regards the FA Cup announcement, it is interesting to note that the Oxford City website does not post a date. Until the TV schedule is finalised (Friday to Monday) the home team cannot commit to anything other than agree admission prices, as it has so much more to organise. Whilst I think the club could do much more in the Media Dept. to encourage greater support (e,g. more publicity about fixtures) I don't reckon much else should be in the public domain unless desirable (notably injuries except long term). Let's keep our opponents guessing. [Post edited 20 Oct 2017 18:00]

Murray has had an operation already. Let's hope this is one injury that responds in the time frame mentioned by McGreal...very few seem to of late.

It would seem that Brennan Dickenson has resumed light training at Florence Park. He is still scheduled for a February 2018 return, but it is very encouraging news. Still no word on Kurtis Guthrie and a likely return date after his set back after being forced back too soon!!! It would be nice to have an update on progress. No word on the Captain Luke Prosser, Sammie Szmodics however appears to be closer to a return after his course of prolotherapy (injections into the ankle), there is talk of a weekend return, but I fear that might be too soon. Sean Murray is 5 weeks away from a return after his operation, whilst Craig Slater must be back for the weekend game in order to ease him back gently. In the meantime the players must keep away from black cats (especially on Halloween) and errant ladders. Up the table climbing Super U's

Injury updates on 09:53 - Oct 31 with 2831 views | burnsieespana | Seemingly Sammie Szmodics and Kane Vincent Young both close to being available for selection which is good news as strengthens our bench if nothing else. A short run out against Oxford City be a good start to full match firness. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Loft has a slight tear in his bicep and will be out for 3 to 4 weeks. Guthrie took part in a light training session but is not n contention for a return yet. Prosser aiming to return in January. Dickenson on schedule to return in February.

Injury updates on 21:00 - Dec 13 with 2306 views | durham_exile | Sadly Ryan Inniss will be out with his shoulder injury for up to 4 weeks. Cameron James must be offered the chance to step into the back three. But word is that Jackson will move into the Centre half slot. We will see what JM decides. Up the U's

JM is not averse to selecting players out of position rather than using the obvious replacement. I'm struggling to recall occasions when this has worked well.

Injury updates on 16:36 - Dec 14 with 2238 views | burnsieespana | He is not adverse to trying new formations either but feel Eastman and Kent would be a bit exposed without another genuine central defender. Maybe Loft will be ready and he would like to accomodate him without changing our midfield,.

Still looks the best player in the club his return could be be best signing we already made . [Post edited 25 Jan 2018 21:30]
