Horlock is patently being groomed to succeed McGreal when he either gets sacked or joins Ipswich. Brown had his chance to become U's Manager and declined. I guess his contract had run out and this was a neat sideways move to pay his mortgage. . For a club of our size it is (IMHO) sensible succession planning. We are never going to sign another Lambert or Boothroyd. Far too expensive, no loyalty. I envisage McGreal and/or Horlock being our best hope for success.

The swap over of both is a logical step to increase both guys experience in situations with teams that have different objectives .
