Week 28 Results

ASTON VILLA 0 WEST BROM 2

Villa were well beaten as their total of home goals conceded this season rose to 32 in 17 games, the worst in English football's top four divisions. Just the 2 (TheHappyGooner and Daniel) got this spot-on, and another 5 had the outcome.

IPSWICH 1 STOKE 1
A 92nd minute equaliser for Ipswich to deny Stoke a first win in five matches. That late goal was good news for the 3 who had it spot-on, and 1 more got the outcome.

BRADFORD CITY 0 PLYMOUTH 0
Plymouth goalkeeper Kyle Letheren thwarted relegation-threatened Bradford in this bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, though 5 did have the outcome.

CHARLTON 0 BLACKPOOL 0
Charlton failed to win for the fourth match in a row as they were held to a goalless draw. Again nobody had this spot-on, and only 2 got the outcome. There were 24 who predicted a win for Charlton.

GILLINGHAM 1 SCUNTHORPE 0
Mark Byrne grabbed the decisive goal as Gillingham beat in-form Scunthorpe to climb out of the League One relegation zone. 6 got this spot-on, and 5 more had the outcome.

SHREWSBURY 1 BURTON 1
Shrewsbury remain in the League One relegation zone after a draw against mid-table Burton. 5 had this spot-on, and another 2 got the outcome.

CARLISLE 2 MK DONS 3
A sparkling second-half display earned MK Dons victory at Carlisle in a battle of two League Two promotion hopefuls. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome.

EXETER 0 BURY 1
Bury continued their excellent run of form as they made it 11 matches unbeaten in all competitions. Well done to blueeagle for being the only one to have this spot-on, and a further 11 got the outcome.

NORTHAMPTON 0 CRAWLEY 0
Both teams moved a step closer to League Two safety after playing out a dour bore draw. No points for anybody from this game. There were 27 who predicted a win for Northampton, with 11 going for a 1-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

OLDHAM 1 CREWE 1
Paul Scholes maintained his unbeaten record in management but had to settle for a point as Oldham conceded a 93rd minute equaliser. Only 2 (RSCOSWORTH and durham_exile) had this spot-on, and 2 also got the outcome.

After a fantastic Week 27 it was back to reality this week, as we had by far the worst 10 game week of the season. Just like last week we had three of the popular 1-1 draws, but with the three bore draws hardly producing a point between them, this was virtually a seven game week. The 19 spot-ons was reasonable return from those seven games, but it was the paltry total of 38 outcomes that made this overall a tough week. So considering that it was an excellent effort from blueeagle to be the only one to get three 3 pointers, the Gillingham 1-0, and Ipswich 1-1, to go with the good Bury 1-0 pick, and with two outcomes he is the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 11 points. Four members did well to have two spot-ons, the best of which was RSCOSWORTH, who had the draws at Shrewsbury and Oldham, on his way to a decent 8 points.

In the Premier Just three outcomes for sevebalo, but they were useful as he increased his lead by those 3 points, as nearest pursuer noah4x4 fired his third blank this season. The decent week for RSCOSWORTH means he reclaims the final Charity Shield spot yet again. It is only outcomes that separate the top three, as they all have the same number of 3 pointers. At the bottom, two spot-ons, the Gillingham 1-0 to go with the good West Brom 2-0 pick, gives TheHappyGooner hope of avoiding the drop, but by having the Shrewsbury 1-1 spot-on both eaglesdare and burnsieespana made sure they spent another week out of the relegation zone. A blank week for gsy163 means he has it all to do now to extend his stay in the Premier to three seasons.

In Division One Only one outcome for Sector4 means his lead is cut by 5 points, as the brilliant effort from blueeagle, scoring 11 points for the second week running, moves him up another four places, and into the other automatic spot. The 2019 express train wessex_exile hit the buffers with a blank, but on a low scoring week not too much damage done. Two spot-ons, the Ipswich and Oldham draws, has put durham_exile right back into contention, just a point from the play-offs. Picking this weeks fixtures proved to be lucky for TheFatGooner, and he was the other one to get two 3 pointers this week, the Gillingham 1-0 and the Shrewsbury 1-1, and he has resurrected his play-off hopes. Even though he continues to have more outcomes than anybody in both leagues concordman has now gone seven weeks without a 3 pointer, that has all but put paid to his play-off chances.

THE TABLES (204 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
