Other half kindly bought me a framed print of Dale shirts through the ages which is really cool, classic kits by goodteamonpaper if anyone is wanting one.
Just thought as a bit of fun would see if we could work out the squad numbers/likely players for the pre squad number days.
I know a fair few but thought 1 answer only each would be good, or else tvos will do the lot 😂😂😂

86/87, 10 was worn by quite a few players but Shaun Reid had it a lot, especially during the run-in when we stayed up.
No. 2 in 92/93 was Thackeray. We had a different shirt in 91/92 and 2 was worn initially by Steve Whitehall up front before it was finally used at the back - sometimes by Paul Butler at CH with Reeves at RB and also Malcolm Brown in the traditional use of the number. Think Leonard wore it once too.
I’ll leave the others for now whilst admitting that was more than one answer. |  |

Michael Oliver generally had about 9 quid in his pocket as his mrs looked after the family finances, due to let’s say a love of horses and greyhounds!

Actually can’t remember who had it before he came on loan, but almost certain Gavin Melaugh had 16 during the FA Cup run to round 5 and his goal at Wolves. | |

The bad run coincided with Mark Stuart getting injured and he’d been wearing 9 a lot as we were scoring goals for fun for a while. When Stuart returned he was back in 11 and wasn’t anywhere near as good. | |

Didn't David Thompson wear number 11 when he came back on his second spell? Even though he played in his usual right wing position. That could have been the right year. |  |
