I don't think that at all. Not at all.
But it is interesting to note that a senior paid appointment was made via a non-competitive process, so it would appear. That has not been disputed by the board when the Trust raised the question, it would also appear. |  |

What happened at the stag do lads. Seriously though at first I thought The slating the new board and CEO got was over the top and irrelevant especially as it concerned stuff relating to personal matters etc. After the Hill sacking and not having a replacement and the fiasco of saying we were interviewing candidates from across Europe to then go with our youth team manager on an interim basis only to then make him permanent manager (all this being announced before BBM’s first game) convinced me Bottomley is winging it. A game being cancelled in August due to issues with a pitch is a joke. |
I think a lot of the criticism was due to the fact that Dunphy who was loved by all was ousted and shown the door add to that we have a chairman who is an invisible man, leaving Bottomley to carry all and any criticism. If anything goes wrong its his fault and if it doesn't its still his still his fault. Compared to whats happened down the road at Bury all our directors deserve our thanks but as Sudden lad said the Trust and all of us should be diligent and keep them honest. | |

I don't see 'disruption' as a negative
The only people who should be concerned about disruption either have something to hide or are so afraid of criticism that they shouldn't be anywhere near a position of responsibility
Disruption can also be creative, for instance where whole industries are disrupted by new technologies which ultimately tend to lead to huge improvements in people's lives, although it may be uncomfortable for those who depended on the status quo
But keeping things local, if disruption is being experienced then it might be pertinent for those feeling it to ask themselves why |  |

Yep, you're catching on. Stag do apart, it's imperative that the good name and future of our club is the priority. I don't believe for one milli-second that anyone on this message board is 'trying to disrupt' the club (or whatever the specific quote was). That's a ridiculous statement.
Let there be no mistake. The fans are the lifeblood and future of this club. If (for example) we allow a Bury situation to develop, unchallenged, we would forever regret it.

Absolutely. Look around us: Bolton and Bury are deep in the mire, and Oldham have certainly flirted with it recently. Then there's Accy. I don't know too much about them, but they seem like a tight-knit club with fans, players and staff connected. We have been more like Stanley than the other three in the past. Let's hope and ensure it continues to be that way. |  | | |

Anyone who follows Andy Holt on Twitter will attest to how his completely open approach around how Stanley are run has impacted positively on his and the club’s reputation.
There is no argument whatsoever that it isn’t the way forward for smaller clubs within the modern game. |  |

I would imagine that in the close season pitch specialists and their time are at a premium. Much like booking a holiday in the school holidays.
I would have thought that maybe it was out of budget to book them in sooner and their more lucrative clients would have booked them then?

From previously reported meetings with the Trust, actual dates were given for when pitch replacement work would commence, initially with Premier Pitches and then with the latest contractors.
Rochdale Hornets had agreed a long time ago to an extended run of away games in order to accommodate the pitch replacement, as I am sure they would have to have rugby league agreement at the time of the fixtures being compiled pre their season, which would suggest a timetable had been agreed with the (a) contractor.
Like any seasonally impacted business, I would expect the availability of staff, materials and equipment to be factored into planning and pricing.
With regards water getting to the drains, isn't it only part of the pitch where this issue occurred and not the whole of the pitch?
In the knowledge that the old pitch was going to be ripped up, then the revenue generation idea was a very good one, in my opinion, so credit where credit's due on that one. [Post edited 30 Jul 2019 12:53]

I'm hearing there is a suggestion that a "band" of people on here are intent on disrupting the club.
I'd like someone to say that to my face. The people I believe are being lumped into this "band" have supported this club for a great many years longer than some of the people currently involved at Rochdale AFC - and they completely have the club's best interests at heart.
I'll rue the day we sit back en masse and let a Bury situation, or even an "Overcoat Men" situation develop here.
Challenge is good and always will be. it's especially important we challenge in the absence of a strong local media presence.
While we may grumble at issues around the club at the minute, not one of us will be anything less than 100% behind BBM and the team he puts out against Tranmere on Saturday. |
If that is indeed the case Fitz, and I have no reason to doubt you I also would love the person concerned to have the balls to say it to my face....If they read this board which I'm sure they do I would urge them to message me so I can send my name and address by return and give them the opportunity to do so......See how they like a disrupted face.... |  |
