See Parky has just resigned from troubled Bolton
You're very welcome back to north essex any time soon
If you were to bring some back room staff as weĺl, then Humes, Ball & McGreal can go

Good idea, but there is no way it will happen. Cowling would never forgive him for walking out after the League 1 promotion.

We can dream but as mfb says Cowling would not forgive him and in any event a second time round for players and Managers rarely works.
Feel sorry for Bolton fans and fear they might go the same way as Bury look like they are going.
Several vacancies already and most likely Parky lined up for one of them.

Despite Parky being just the type of manager we need, one who would take the current squad by the scruff of the neck as he did when he first joined us, there is zero chance of this happening as it doesn't fit the business plan, club ethos, club DNA or the chairman's previous dealings with incumbent managers.

Recruiting a new head coach from outside the club may, to some observers, suggest the current model does not work or even be an admission by the chairman that it doesn't work. I'd be inclined to agree with that view but until there is a vacancy to fill we have no idea what Mr Cowling will do.

Poll: Safe standing at football; yes, know or don't know?

Any shrewd businessman will forget personal prejudices and go for a good deal. So, Mr. Cowling, please at least offer the U's manager's job to Parky.

It is true that returning managers usually find they cannot repeat previous successes, but Perky would surely have to be an improvement on he present incumbent.
