Happy League 2019/20 Week 10 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 12th October 15.00 22:16 - Oct 5 with 1766 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 9 Results

BURNLEY 1 EVERTON 0

Burnley take their unbeaten run to four, as Everton have now lost four consecutive Premier League games for the first time since January 2015. Since the start of last season, Everton have shipped 22 goals from set-piece situations (excl. pens) in the Premier League, more than any other side. 3 got this spot-on, and another 10 had the outcome.

LIVERPOOL 2 LEICESTER 1
Liverpool win it with a 95th minute penalty. Milner's penalty was the 34th time Liverpool have scored a 90th-minute winning goal in a Premier League match - at least nine more than any other side. That late goal was good news for the massive 9 who had this spot-on, and a further 16 got the outcome.

NORWICH 1 ASTON VILLA 5
Villa brushed aside a team that came up from the Championship alongside them last season. Villa became the first promoted side to score five goals away from home in a Premier League match since Bolton at Leicester in August 2001. Not surprisingly nobody got this spot-on, and only 3 had the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Norwich.

ACCRINGTON 2 OXFORD UNITED 2
Oxford United extended their unbeaten run to six games with this draw, though their run of five clean sheets came to an end. Nobody had this spot-on, but 5 did get the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Oxford with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was equally the most predicted score this week.

AFC WIMBLEDON 3 ROCHDALE 2
A first league win of the season for Wimbledon, but after leading 3-0 they were given a scare by two goals from ex-U's Ian Henderson. Again no 3 pointer for anybody from this game, though 12 did have the outcome, with 10 going for a 1-0 in what was the weeks other most predicted score.

ROTHERHAM 4 COVENTRY 0
Rotherham ended 10-man Coventry's unbeaten start to the season in emphatic fashion. Yet another game with no spot-on, but 7 did get the outcome.

Not for the first time this season one result saved the week from being a disaster for finding those important 3 pointers. It was that controversial late penalty winner from Liverpool making all the difference this time, giving us 9 of the weeks total 12 spot-ons. The Burnley 1-0 produced the other 3, so two members did well to get them both. They were ghughes11, to give him a very good 6 points, and concordman, who also had one outcome to give him a decent 7 points. He has to share the honour of being the weeks top scorer with noah4x4, who was best of those who had one 3 pointer, the Burnley 1-0, and four outcomes to give him the decent 7 points.

In the Premier After a blip last week noah4x4 was back to his imperious best again, top scoring for the fourth time this season, and extending his lead to an incredible 19 points. Sector4 was grateful for that late Liverpool winner to stop him falling further behind, and four outcomes made sure mfb_cufc held onto the final Charity Shield spot. Others to benefit from having the Liverpool 2-1 spot-on were RSCOSWORTH, to remain fourth, sevebalo to move up two places into fifth, and TheFatGooner to move him out of the relegation zone. Hard luck story of the week goes to thrillseeker for being the only one to predict 1-1 for the Liverpool v Leicester game.

In Division One A single outcome was enough to keep Blue4U2 at the summit, but the pack closed in, lead by Daniel having the Liverpool 2-1 spot-on, moving him three places into the other automatic place. Also moving up three is ghughes11, with his good week taking him back into the play-offs after a week away. Outcomes for Lewis_1 and GOSBTS maintains their play-off spots. The top scoring effort from concordman moves him to within a point of the top six. Others to benefit from the Liverpool 2-1 in this league were basher2010 and gsy163, and they move up two and four places respectively. After only having one blank in the first 45 weeks of competing in the Happy League unitedwhites has now had one for the last two weeks, and he drops a further four places.

THE TABLES (62 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)

Week 10 Fixtures This was meant to be a guest pick 10 week, but it is time for an International break again, and that leaves the guest with limited fixtures to pick from, so Week 11 will be a guest pick 10 week now.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED v LINCOLN CITY
PORTSMOUTH v GILLINGHAM
SOUTHEND UNITED v AFC WIMBLEDON
CHELTENHAM TOWN v NEWPORT COUNTY Match postponed - International call-ups
EXETER CITY v FOREST GREEN ROVERS
SWINDON TOWN v PLYMOUTH ARGYLE

The Cheltenham v Newport game was still on last Saturday, so this is a late call. Week 11 will now be a guest pick 11 to make up for this.

Good luck everybody.
