After the frenetic number of U's games to follow from afar and managed to see 4 so far in person going to be a funny Saturday!
So anybody doing anything exciting or maybe watching a non EFL game?

Yep, no i-follow Burnsie.
Can't go birdwatching - the hunt will be out.

So, errrmm, no footie to watch [most games on Sundays in France], thus I expect I shall harvest most of me sprouts and prepare the plots for the winter now already here and cover 'em to prevent weeds growing so the new owners of the house have no weeds to deal with.
Then I shall pack up a couple of boxes and maybe rake some leaves to the compost heap.

Will stop now as everyone's bored.

So, in other words, Nope, nothing exciting.

Burnsie, as things stand my Saturday is likely to be less exciting than Pinault.

Certainly no football planned.

Stop Press - Metro Centre Shopping with eldest son and Grand-daughter.
Good news

You poor man. The meatballs in the café are OK though.

I'm hoping my weekend involves nothing more taxing than walking the dogs.

Wife away on a Spa & Pamper day, so options under consideration.....

1. Barbarians v Fiji Rugby at Twickenham; £66 for decent seats (plus train/beer).
2. Leyton Orient v Scunny - but do I want to pay to watch these donkeys?
3. Chelmsford City v Oxford City....ditto.
4. Barbarians v Fiji (free on BBC) then a budget of £66 in pub (and £50 into savings).
5. Colchester RFC v Old Haberdashers in the pouring rain (ditto budget advantage).

An afternoon in front of the TV (4) looks favourite; and if weather dry, timing means I could still mosey over to see the second half at Mill Road, then early in the pub. A beer budget of £66 available from not going to Twickers should ensure a satisfying day. Albeit, Mrs Noah will ensure the overall family spend will exceed all (in aggregate). I'd probably be better off going to IKEA, but pub wins...

This weekend we have the (dubious) advantage of gaining a game in hand on those around us, so I'll spend most of Saturday afternoon monitoring events elsewhere in the hope that we capitalise on that advantage through the failures of others - ball is in their court, let's hope plenty of them drop it.

edit: and enjoying a break from the Matches of Yesteryear series - I love doing them, but having a weekend off is very welcome

At a conference in Worthing on Saturday so secretly very happy I shan’t be missing any U’s action. Will listen to 5Live on the way back to Battle where I’m staying for the week with my aunt. Next Saturday I’ll be at the Amex for a rather mouthwatering/nerve wracking tie against Leicester, my first Albion game of the season.

Meatballs it is then

Trying to take a positive regarding a visit to IKEA and I can only think of one:

By going to IKEA I can hopefully control spending as I am sure if wife went on her own it would be a much more expensive day

Good news - I escaped IKEA today

Bad news - had to go to in-laws today and now IKEA Sunday

Not a lot of football today but results not too disappointing for the U's.
'Our' Craig Slater, Alex Wynter, Mikael Mandron, Chris Porter and Ian Henderson all scorers today!

Yep, could have been worse - FGR lost, Bradford obviously didn't play, Crewe lost, Exeter and Cheltenham drew (against each other). Overtaken by Northampton and Port Vale, who we both now have a game in hand on, and only 2pts behind.

In other news, Bolton have finally got a positive points total and are rapidly reeling in Southend. Just 4 points off the bottom now!

Breakfast out, tosada for three with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee all for 12 euros with no fear of looking at results.
My superstition is don't look at Col U's until game is over unless watching!
