Available non contracted players 19:47 - Nov 25 with 2666 views | Thacks_Rabbits | Bearing in mind the bench at weekend and the obvious lack of options we have, basically everywhere but in goal, I had a quick look at players with no club, there are loads, who we could approach and get registered on a months deal initially, assuming it suits both parties, and probably won’t cost a lot as beneficial to player and club. Some may not want to play any more, some might not be able too due to injury, some might not want to come here, but surely must be worth a chat. Few names I found are: Buckley-Ricketts - local and classic broken to, only 21 and a winger/forward Peter Whittingham - can play defence and midfield - veteran stage of career Bunn - no club and might be worth a go with limited risk Beckford - obviously injury prone and retired, but is he finished or just sick of last 2 seasons O’Neill - quality player historically, no club, local, experience We may have approached some of the above but even a seasoned l2 veteran is probably better than a bench full of kids and Calvin!

Available non contracted players on 09:14 - Nov 26 with 2379 views | RooleyMoorBlue | Buckley-Ricketts was signed for an undisclosed fee on a 3 yr contract last July. Obviously something is wrong there if he has been released from said contract after barely a year into it. Whittingham, 35, would be a good signing as he is a cultured passer of the ball and a dead ball specialist which we are in need of. Harry Bunn is surprisingly without a club and would be worth a punt to spice up the forwards. The only problem then would be actually getting the ball that far forward. I wouldn`t touch Beckford with a barge pole and I don`t know which O`Neill you are referring to.

Whittingham might want a decent wedge but if pursuaded to sign for Dale it could have a positive effect on young players like morley to improve his game...
| My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds |

Direct, skilful, pace and would provide a much-needed link between the midfield and Henderson. Understand he was on astronomical wages at Bury but surely we could tempt him for 6 months to prove he's still got the quality that made him a regular Championship starter at Huddersfield for a spell - and then he can find himself a bigger and better deal elsewhere.

He's the right type of player and although he's never set the world alight we don't really have the board backing for that kind of player. Free agents aside, we are only left with the approach of picking someone out of the lower leagues. Would they be a Hogan or a Donnelly is a whole other matter.

I agree re Buckley-Ricketts to a point but it could be he could not settle in Peterborough or had personal issues or he could just be a bellend, but he must be worth having a chat with, he strikes me as a potentially good player like NML or Etuhu. Hogans attitude was wrong first time here so he might be another gem. Bunn is an odd one but I think he is better than we have and on a free (bURY paid 600k for him and he was apparently on 7k a week) short term on sensible wages he is worth a go. Beckford pay as you play and expenses only I think would be fine as no down side, will cost little and if fit you he is a level above all but Hendo. The O’Neill I was referring to was Gary, ex Bolton, Boro, Pompey etc. Ball winning quality midfielder, a better version of Keane (no not Roy) and would be great in midfield with our inexperienced players. There are literally hundreds of players out there, not suggesting the ones I mentioned are any form of rumour, but they would all add something, even if just options or numbers.

Of course, they need men's football and it was a first taste of it for some of them. Some of them are also knocking on the door for us." Any of them capable of scoring 10+ goals in League 1?

James Garner, who never seems to get a chance with Ole would be a no brainer for me. Seen him play U23 games for United and every game he was a stand out. Aggressive go forward midfielder with a tremendous shot on him.
