The original Colchester United Ladies was formed in the early 1990s and reached the second tier of the English game, but folded in 2013.

Think the statement is incorrect. Pretty sure Colchester had a ladies side in the early 70’s, has remember a picture of the ladies running on the spot in front of the main stand with ex goalie Barry Smith putting them through their paces in one programme .

Definitely good luck to them. One of the driving forces behind the previous Col U Women's team (Sparky) used to be active on here many years ago. Great to see the CUFC Women's team make a return!
