Thought l would check Wiki to see what became of Colchester United loanee Charlie Owens from Queen's Park Rangers. I was surprised when we signed him as we had a glut of midfielders....well, according to Wiki Owens has made just four senior appearances in four years - all of them on loan and shared between ourselves, Wycombe Wanderers and Boreham Wood.

This signing came at a time when some of our recruitment was highly questionable and the club appeared to be floundering.

I don't see this type of signing occuring under the new management team. It appears to have been a waste of time and money to the club and is not the only example.

Recruitment is key and this is not an area we have excelled in over the past five seasons.
