Would Div 2 be that bad? 20:27 - Jan 24 with 647 viewsBFG

Just a thought, being pessimistic.

Not sure on the financial implications. Crowds likely to be about the same, maybe better if we start playing some football. But much of a muchness in terms of quality. Better to be a big fish in a small pond ? Plus more local matches potentially .. Gillingham, Northampton, Southend, Dagenham, Wycombe, Aldershot, Barnet, Wimbledon. Maybe even Luton or Dartford. Sadly Wrexham might be a date too :(

On reflection my main concern would be the Cowling factor.

If we go down we are going to take some time to return to div1. Look at Southend I know some of you have a bit of banter with them , but lets face it they are not a bad side.
Have to say our concern is with our chairman ?

Hoping he is committed to a Div 2 side.

Simple answer yes.

We managed to get out of that Division and I have no wish to go back.

One bad sesaon in League 2 and you are out of the football league.

Unfortunately there are too many supporters with limited ambition who don't seem to mind such a position.

It is crucial that Colchester survive. The teams are a better quality in league one and away attendances are greater on average.

The debate about poor WHCS attendances has been made many times.

We have 19 games to save the club because I cannot believe that anyone would like Colchester to play in the fourth tier of English football again.
