They have recruited smartly for the last 5 years. The big thing for them is that Iraola’s contract runs out in June, and he is being very coy about his future intentions. Given that his team has regularly beaten United comfortably, you would think they would be mad not to get him in the summer. |

£11 million to Bristol City from the sell-on clause. Hopefully they don’t spend it wisely. |

I think Edwards would have been a good defensive midfielder. He lacks the pace and strength to be a top CB, I think. But he has skill and can pass a ball. I would have kept him and sold one of the bad eggs Flynn Downes. [Post edited 8 Jan 21:04]

I note there is no shitty cartoon on the socials from our wacky PR team to celebrate this news. Is this recognition that these cartoons were bloody laughable, or is there a wave of cost cutting afoot within the Sport Republic empire? |

Spors will be hiding in a cave until we start winning matches again. At that point, before you can type #saintsfc into X, he will be trending on there due to all the interviews he will have given. |

Has Matuesz Lis ever signed for one of the biggest clubs in world football? Southampton and Goztepe apart, obviously. |

I read recently that she is pregnant, and that the last time she had a child she returned to work 5 days after the child was born (!!) as "the Donald" was in dire need of her, er, service.... Quite the machine. |

I suppose that if he echoes Adam Armstrong's "we haven't given 100%" line, he would get pelters for that. I rarely take any notice of what players or managers say as it's usually just spin. It's more interesting when you read stuff like what Alfie House came out with earlier this week; that's far more insightful. Sometimes I think the club should just use a media officer person to do all the press stuff like that daft woman that Trump uses. They could just answer all the questions. [Post edited 8 Jan 9:16]

By my maths, we would need to get 36 points from 20 games to get to the predicted total of 69 points. Isn't happening with the current team. Sign a striker who will score a dozen or more goals in those 20 games, AND if the new goalkeeper also does the business then I'll think differently. |

Spors was quoted recently as saying we were not looking to loan Downs out to a German club..... This was presumably at the time of us winning games, as he only does interviews after a few wins. Guess we won't be hearing from him for a while...... |

Given that Downs scored 0 goals, you could argue if Wilson scores 1 goal, he would be an improvement by a factor of infinity. Maths nerd alert. |

We should have made it a commitment rather than an option. No way will they be stupid enough to pay that in the summer. |
