Mark Warburton interview
at 14:34 17 Nov 2024

Yes agree with that.Given the finances we are now going to have to be lucky with loans. My sense is we are in trouble, when it goes against you as a club it really does turn against you.Sometimes I think back you get ten year periods where a club can do no wrong, every buy comes off.Wharburtom remindied me what a decent team he had and that turned against him.The team is continually being asked to get them selves out of difficult situations,Once ok twice?.Tough ,tough job.Use all the contacts we have got for a premiership loanee ,a youngster or too.I hope the team is working on something now.

What we need is better players
at 13:59 10 Nov 2024

Marti cifuentes is a good manager.OK on this board there are always someone who will disagree like a petulant 15 year old, but we ,on balance know Martin and his team are of the required calibre.

The issue is the players, specifically the attack and lack of goals.

Defence is good, issue is injuries.

Midfield is ok

Attack is poor

The answer is new players.

It is very very hard for a team to go out week after week knowing goals are a problem.

I am sure Marti has told Nourry what the issues are .His job is to get the right loans in.

Calm down and do what fans do and support the team as we have been doing

Dear 2808,

Wife booked online before we got there.
About £25-£30 ,but life is short.

Just go to the Reichstag website.Everyone speaks English so it is like booking a restaurant here.
It is both posh and easy going at the same time.I was in shorts and T-shirt.

Hope you like it

Deep breath: GIVE the lad a chance.

Have you ever thought your opinion may be a bit quick to judge?
Marti must see the potential as must the Slovenian National manager.

I hope the lad doesn’t read this rubbish.

Have any of those criticising ever coached or managed?

Finally Celar worked very very hard tonight, possibly ran the most of any QPR player

Saito did very well don’t understand the criticism.Till he went off he was our most threatening forward.
Symth just needs to 1.get his body position right when the defender is close to him 2.Release it early sometimes as if he continually runs into blind alleys .More head up and choose right moment to run in behind

Huge potential there.Needs coaching more.Good header -unlucky

With dembele as a 10, withdrawn striker. That should be a good attack

Judging by performances yes 1st choice right back in the championship.
He is that rare thing an underrated player.
Player with the most competitive spirit in the team.'That undefinable thing called character.
Him and Chair anyway.Adds 20% to his team mates performances by example

He forgot or played through that own goal in 5 minutes.

Cifuentes knows this.

Plays like a fan and there is no higher compliment than that

Ask whether it is precast planks with a screed or concrete top.
Or an cast in-situ slab. Also ask for structural records and how it spans

Probabaly the latter.-ie in-situ

Only issue is when you want to change anything upstairs.

If it timber generally easy-concrete adaptation is hard ,messy ,and costly.

Think ahead as she will probably need to use a downstairs room as a bedroom.

Also a walk-in shower downstairs would be a good idea.

I recommend you do that now after you move in

Play-offs are possible with this manager. If we get lucky and start scoring goals it could happen quickly. It is simply maintaining last seasons post December form

Flying back from holiday checking phone on BBC Sport.Typical FFS at 20 minutes, but kept checking as I am some sort of addict.Saw that the stats suggested an even game then that beautiful boy Dunne scores.Real hope -after last season this lot know almost anything is possibleThank God this team has some spirit. Then its all us and they are wobbling. At Colback sending -off its FFS again.Check at 4.45-burst out loud laughing funny.Thank you Lyndon Dykes.

Well done Boys and management team -you have something going here.Alot of variation and alternatives and heart.

Well done the support behind the goal-that looked like fun

Agree. His covering is probably the best we have.Certainly something Varane could learn from.
Field was lax and knows it.

Tactics question
at 19:25 3 Aug 2024

Playing out from the back comes from the theory that you win games GENERALLY by having ball possession. So in theory a football pitch is say 105m x68m so 7140 m2 with say 22 players. That is 325m2 per player about 18x18m per player. So alot of space per player to receive ,control and pass a ball.
Most teams should be able to in theory pass around any opposition given this amount of space. Now this assumes an even spread ,but it makes the point. Now if you pass out from the back and the opposition do not drop into their own half, again in theory and practice if you can pass through say a front four or five that leaves6 defenders to score against as opposed to a low block of say 8 or 9.Also in this scenario each of our attackers has fractionally more time and space.

Playing out from the back basically 'invites' a team to to move players up the pitch to positions where they are more evenly spaced out i.e.closer to the 18x18m spacing.Technically better teams can win games this way.

Cruyff basically started this at Barcelona, leading to the Spanish possession game of the 2000's to 2010's.The pressing game was the answer to that via Klopp and Dortmund.

The best teams played possession so the rest if technically good enough copied.

Our manager comes from that tradition.

All football is about either getting space and time on the ball with great ball control,

Or limiting the opposition time, space and hoping they have poor ball control.

Guardiola teams almost force the opposition to drop into their own half for fear of being passed around if they go toe to toe.Klopp teams ,at their best were the fittest on earth and ran ran to limit the time and space. To win you have to limit one of the variables of time and space
