At one time in the game, Lavia, Romeu, and Jwp were each 2 or 3 yards from each other, and I was wondering who can break with the ball forward to create space. The problem is not the defence or the attack, it's the midfield. That midfield was so redundant as no one can create for forward players, Romeu can never be a 10 or an 8 with no work rate. Diallo is better suited for that role, play 433 bazunu, kwp, kotchap, salisu, Perraud. Jwp, Lavia, Diallo, Djenepo, armstrong, Aribo. stop tinkering to create consistency. give jwp more freedom on the right and centre positions to bring crosses and shoot outside the box.
I expected a loss, but spurs showed the is a huge gap with a team that failed to beat us last season when we were 10 men in more than one half or the comeback. |

Last season it was Max Allyne a defender to Man City, this season it is Dibbling. The compensation package is probably less than half a mil since he had no contract with us, pennies on the dollar. Our academy has really good prospects in Ballard, Pearce, Doyle, Payne, and a few others who really want to succeed the Southampton way. We should just wish success to players who want to leave and let them go. |

Oriol Romeu doesn't have competition, and that's our weakest position. We need a tall CDM with a good passing range to command that midfield. I believe the boys' character showed when we didn't lose the game coupled with a number 6 and 10 signing in this window can propel us to the top half of the table. |

I don't how redmond plays for 90 minutes, this season he has very poor. His good days are past him. Stephens played a decent game the goal couldn't be prevented. The squad needs quality additions and under 10 million signings I don't think will cut it in every part of the team especially the forward areas. Ings signing his contract will be our biggest summer deal. The scouts should be looking at Eredivisie for decent young players like Joey Veerman, Belgian league for players Noa Lang, Denmark for Lindstrom. Young players over achieving their expected metrics. For a team to succed in premier league a combination of three things need to be met; finances, quality signings and a good coach. |

Ward prowse an early contender for the POTY for saints squad. Hopefully he gets a call for the Euros . We lack quality players to finish top 7 next season at best we have five players Forster in for Gk, Kwp, Vestergaard, wardprowse, ings. Armstrong and djenepo are so inconsistent due to injuries. Ralph is looking to atleast bring in five players. Tella should be ahead of redmond hence forth, we lack a very creative Player and a Winger. In most games Ings and Che are starved of chances. Walcott and minamino should go back to their respective clubs and we should look into signing young players who can improve the team and will generate future revenue. Borja sosa or mykolenko for LB, Oliver skipp, gerson, provod, for CM, Sima, buendia, hlozek, cantwell, Berardi ✔ï¸, for 10 and wingers. We need a right sided centre back. |

I don't why the loss didn't make me angry as Redmond staying on the pitch for 87 minutes. Felt the youngsters could have had a much bigger impact. Jan was poor at Rb once he was shifted his game grew. Giving Bertrand a new contract will be no different than the shane long contract( player signs for 2 years yet his usefulness has ended). Ings was so selfish, the goal drought has affected him mentally. No service to Che & Ings. Djenepo essentially was wingback which limited him, Would like to see the bernado Silva role in him. Wardprowse has been poor the last month or so but the Everton game he really stepped up, would like to see more of him with the ball on his feet breaking the press and running towards opposition defenders. Armstrong is no deep lying CDM his best position is between opposition defence and mid. Our first shot on target was vestergaard in the latter stages of the game. Which tactic is that. Next season we need RCB(sell Stephens, bednarek becomes fourth choice) GK( we need a younger gk who is good on his feet) 2CDM/CM ( wardprowse game suffers while he plays for long stretches without a break. Sell Redmond, Bertrand Stephens, 1Gk, long, don't buy Walcott or minamino. This squad is so lean we need a new whole team of buys |

After digest; the team isn't good enough! More than half the players are not premier league level or they are very poor. No creativity at all. The movement to the final ball is very slow. Our forward players should have more movement. We need better players with good technique because Redmond, Bertrand, Che and Stephens should not be close to that team. How did we let Boufal leave for nothing while redmond stayed. We need a striker and two wingers(or 10's). |

Southampton are short of quality in Lb, Lm, Rm, Cf. If we correct this four positions I believe we have a chance of unsettling the big 'six'. We need atleast two signings in January to cope up with mounting injuries issues. Che missed a very good chance, he needs to be a sub at the moment, that left mid, we haven't any luck all season we need a consistent performer. We need to let Bertrand, long to go. |

Fact: Southampton have lost the most points from winning positions. Our lucksture to close out games is costing us big. If we could have held leads against spurs, united, wolves and arsenal, we could be looking at all other sides in our rear view mirror. There is, still margin for improvement, we are all in Ralph train.
I do support the five subs rule as it will help the team freshen up and also allow young players to gain some game time |

I feel with arsenal's 10 men we could have spread them wider, by our fullbacks staying out wide and wingers just outside the box. Ings could have done more with his movement. In this game I wish we had 5 subs to bring in the likes of Tella. |

Last season the 2-2 draw we deserved to win. If Arsenal fails to pack that midfield, we are going to wipe that team off the floor. Hope Romeu doesn't get a yellow card hope to see him against city. Would like to see vokins at left back. Armstrong to increase work rate/aggression. Walcott to improve passing, Che workrate and Ings clinical edge. We will be a force to reckon with.
The first half against Sheffield was the best football saints have played all year.
Would like to see salisu, diallo, smallbone, tella more but how this team is playing it will be difficult for them to force through |
