The final isn't until June 1st, going to feel like a very short off season for whoever loses. Coupled with the psychological blow as well it might take a while to get them up and challenging again next season. |

I've seen lots of comments regarding us being 'comfortable' or having them 'on the ropes' at 3-1 and it just never felt like that to me. Some games you know they're put to bed with a 2 goal advantage but Southend had been having a go all night and it was far from over for me. Also thought they should've had a penalty late on (and Hogan would've walked already being on a yellow) and our penalty was rather soft. [Post edited 17 May 12:51]

Extra time if level after 90 apparently. |

Far more than the football on display or the result, this is the sort of thing that will dissuade potential new supporters, particularly those with kids, from returning. Dispiriting. |

Poor header out I think by Beckwith?, when he'd have been better off putting it out for a corner. Ultimately disappointing but a decent enough point. |

Didn't have a great view of it but thought we dodged a bullet when Hogan bought their man down on the stroke of halftime, looked a pen to me. |

What's the deal with Fin Armstrong, is he able to be recalled? |

Not saying it's the case with us, but I've read of instances where the manager just doesn't like having senior pros around because a) they carry too much influence in the dressing room and b) as they're coming to the end of their career, they might be a perceived threat to the managers job... |

Sadly, I now feel the same about Kairo. His goals have been invaluable, particularly last season when we needed to stabilise, but if we are to have a serious tilt at getting back into league football, either this or future seasons, I don't think he's the answer (at least not as the main man). There was one moment last night, when a cross came over and just eluded him that I'm sure he turtle necked and could have got something on had he been a bit braver, though I might be doing him a disservice and I'd have to see it again. How Mitchell or anybody else failed to create anything of note is almost criminal given that the Halifax centre half Alimi-Adeboto?, was dreadful. |

How do you know the teams that finished just above us can't look at games where they coulda/woulda/shoulda picked up more points as well? |

8 miles down the road from me, for purely selfish reasons couldn't wish for a better draw. Realise for the vast majority it's bloody awful though. Should be a decent crowd should we get through, Worthing very much a club on the up and working hard in the community. Been a few times and the setup off the pitch is struggling to keep up with their success on it but they're getting there. [Post edited 6 Jan 17:53]

Just put them on ignore- simple. I come on this board less and less because virtually every thread descends into tedious arguments, life's too short. |

Reading some comments from Southampton fans on the BBC News site after Russell Martin got canned and almost to the letter their complaints match ours....'playing about at the back when we haven't got the players to do it'.....'50 passes to cross the halfway line'.....'can't score if you don't shoot'.....etc, etc. Might this style of football be on the way out if there's a few more high profile managerial casualties or will it take more than that? |

It wasn't even really 'hit' into the wall, tried to get too cute and virtually rolled it. Their goal was probably the only bit of quality in the whole game, both teams more or less cancelled each other out before this and it was painfully dull to watch. |
