Big Up For Super Chrissy Martin
Big Up For Super Chrissy Martin

Super Chris joins an elite section of Norwich City players if he gets the shout tomorrow.

He gets his Ton up! Joining Adam Drury and Simon Lappin as "senior" players.

For a lad who is still only 22 years old, that is a milestone, indeed. And, what is more, he is an Academy graduate and natural-born City supporter.

With Grant Holt due to serve out his one match suspension for getting himself five yellow cards, the chances look good for Chrissy to get the start.

Five goals in nine appearances saw Peter Grant sign the Beccles-born star, beating off alleged interest from Manchester United.

After Peter Grant's rsignation, Chris Martin lost the interest of replacement manager, Glenn Roeder.

Roeder set about scuttling the good ship Norwich City as all will remember, not least mby farming Chris Martin and fellow Academy graduate Michael Spillane out to Luton.

If Roeder had stayed put, so would Chris Martin. Luckily, Roedrer got what he deserved and Bryan Gunn made sure that Chris Martin knew he would be returning to Carrow Road.

A move that paid off as Martin demonstrated that he had matured while out on loan to such an extent he was the seconf name to be penned into the selection sheet under Paul Lambert.

Chrissy, along with Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan, became a part of the three most terrifying players to play against in Division One.

So the Portsmouth game will be a milestone for Martin, if selected. City will need to remain a rpomotion prospect, I suspect, in order to keep a hold of Chris Martin from now on.

For the local boy done good star that is Chris Martin will surely be a Premiership player before much longer.

Let us hope he does it with Norwich.
