Town Edge Closer to Sixth and Seventh Signings

Town are edging closer to completing the signings of Fulham keeper David Stockdale and Arsenal midfielder or striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. The duo are understood to be at the club this afternoon with the Blues hopeful of finalising their sixth and seventh new additions of the summer later today.

A £1.1 million fee is believed to have been agreed with the Gunners for Emmanuel-Thomas with talks and a medical taking place today.

Loanee Stockdale is set to sign on a season-long loan but with the Cottagers demanding a recall clause in case of injury time first choice Mark Schwarzer.

Town hope the pair will sign in time to feature in Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Colchester United (KO 7.45pm).

Fans travelling to Colchester without tickets should note they need to buy one at the Ticket Office at the Weston Homes Community Stadium before they can enter via the turnstiles.
