Dale's first game back in League Two is coincidentally the same as the game which confirmed our departure from that same division last time out.

Northampton Town will be the visitors for Dale's first game back in the old "Rochdale Division" following the release of the fixtures on Monday morning. The Cobblers, who now count former Dale striker Clive Platt amongst their ranks, are rated at 20-1 according to the bookies, and have shorted odds than ourselves.

Dale boss John Coleman will have an emotional return to the Crown Ground in October, where Dale travel to his former side Accrington Stanley. He and assistant Jimmy Bell brought about the most successful time in the club's history and there is sure to be a warm welcome for the duo.

Dale haven't been blessed with a great deal of fortune for the Bank Holiday games. We have Burton away on Boxing Day, Rotherham at home on New Years Day, and a trip to Exeter City on Easter Monday.

The season is finished with a home game against Plymouth Argyle. The full list of fixtures can be seen here.
