Despite having only agreed his first professional contract at the end of last season, Sam Byram has been rewarded with an improved three-year-deal, presumably to fend off the inevitable transfer to Norwich for now.

Neil Warnock has responded to the youngsters performances of late, he was a revelation pre-season and starred in both our League Cup triumph over Shrewsbury and Saturday's victory over Wolves. His steady and composed performances have earned him improved terms, the player told the official website that he was "delighted" with what had happened to him of late.

Warnock is also expected to tie up El Hadji Diouf on a permanent deal. The 31-year-old has played for Warnock do far on a non-contract basis. Warnock has seemingly won the PR battle with the dissenting Leeds fans, Diouf received a far more positive reception when he came on against Wolves, more importantly his performance enabled Leeds to secure a memorable victory.

Diouf's permanent arrival could not really come at a better time, with the news that Paul Green's knee injury will be likely to keep him sidelined for "several weeks". Warnock will be sweating on news about Green from the treatment-room as he was out of action at his last club Derby for seven months with cruciate damage.
