Comfortable and Impressive Win For Swans

Home > Story Index >Comfortable Win For Swansea

Brian Flynn fielded a strong Swansea side which took to the pitch in front of just 98 spectators (counting courtesy of Dave Naylor from the MAGS who also managed to count 25 Jacks who had made the game!) The Swansea fans were treated to their first glimpses of Leon Britton and Craig Steins.
Talking to Keith Haynes of the MAGS after the game, this was his views on tonight's performance "We played very well and if you wanted a truer reflection on the play then five or six-nil would not have flattered us at all. All the players looked impressive with the exception of Williams but even he managed to get himself on the scoresheet - mind you he couldn't miss.
"Britton is a class act and if Flynn plays him against Exeter then we shouldn't have too many worries. He passed the ball superbly and you can just see that he has the class to make it at a much higher grade than the 3rd division.
"Together with Rochards and Tate it looks as if Flynn has entered the loan market with some success this time. If you catch my drift if Tate was a Swansea player then he wouldn't be for much longer. It doesn't take a genius to work out that he has come from a pedigree club and brings what he has learned at Old Trafford and applies it at this level with some superiority.
"There is certainly every reason to feel very confident for Saturday and I think that we have a reasonable indication from tonight to what we may see on the pitch on Saturday. This was my first game since Bristol Rovers earlier on in the season and there is a massive difference in the level of performance.
"All Swansea fans need to keep an eye on Britton though. We have had some class loan acts at the Vetch in the past 10 years and this kid certainly has what it takes about him. Surely this was a better way to spend an evening than watching Arsenal on the TV."
There certainly seem some big crumbs of comfort to take from tonight's result and here is hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
