Top Two Clash In League Two Match Of The Day

It's a clash of the top two tomorrow afternoon as Swansea complete their mini away tour with a clash with Scunthorpe that could put them within two points of the leaders. A win for Scunthorpe will guarantee them a minimum 7 point lead at the top tomorrow evening.

After the good midweek result at Oxford, the Swans have moved back into second place and now the league two match of the day sees the divisions most in form side Scunthorpe as our opposition as we look to close in before the start of the Christmas period of matches.

Marc Goodfellow's goal on Wednesday night was exactly what was needed after two successive defeats and it also moved the Swans back into the hunt at the top after they fell out of the promotion places 24 hours beforehand. A win tomorrow will see them within touching distance of Scunthorpe at the top although it does become somewhat essential that we don't lose what is the proverbial six-pointer.

Swans manager Kenny Jackett has been full of praise for his opposite numbers team so far this season and is convinced that they will achieve promotion and he has laid down the gauntlet for his own team to match that achievement. With 26 games to go there is plenty to play for and it is not fair to assume that either side will automatically be there come May just because they are now.

For the Swans Andy Robinson returns from his three match ban for his sending off against Shrewsbury and could well feature in the side as Adrian Forbes is a potential absentee with a twisted knee. Paul Connor is expected to return to the attack in place of assistant manager Kevin Nugent.

Scunthorpe have no worries at all and after their late comeback to win against Cambridge in midweek they also have Cleveland Taylor and Nathan Stanton pushing hard for a starting place in tomorrow's team.

It is possibly fair to say that this is the biggest test for the Swans this season and we have to hope that we come through this as we have done against better teams so often in the past. If Kenny is right and Scunthorpe are to be the season's benchmark then how much would a win up there boost the confidence within our own squad?

Fingers crossed for 3pm tomorrow and C'MON THE JACKS!
