Snow Joke As Swans Head North

Four games and two points is the harsh reality for Kenny Jackett's side as they left for Darlington this morning knowing full well that the match is very likely to fall victim to the cold snap that is engulfing the country this week.

A 10.30 inspection tomorrow morning should decide whether the match will go ahead or not with all indications being that the game will not be played leaving the Swans needing to make the long trek to Darlington twice and not giving them the chance to reverse a run of form that has seen them caught by the chasing pack.

If the match does go ahead, then Jackett will be giving a first start for the Swans to Kevin McLeod as Andy Robinson has not travelled North with the squad. McLeod had a twenty minute spell on the pitch on Saturday after not fully recovering from a virus but seems set to start the game. Whether he is the only change from the side that started Saturday's game remains to be seen although Alan Tate, Leon Britton and Lee Thorpe will be hoping for a start as the Swans look for the much needed points that will see them kick start their promotion push.

Darlington will go into the game knowing that a win should lift them back into the play off positions. Boss David Hodgson was pleased with their improved performance to get a point at Wycombe on the weekend and they too have had the fans on their backs at home in recent weeks - something that Hodgson has promised not to give them the chance to do again..

They have no fresh injury worries ahead of the game and seem likely to field an unchanged side.

This preview could turn out to be completely wasted time but if the game does get the green light then it is one that the Swans need to take something from - defeat here is not an option especially with the crunch against Scunthorpe coming on the weekend.
