One Vision - Game Four

One Vision - 20th August 2005

Brentford moved top of League One with a 2-0 victory over Tranmere.

The Bees got their season back on track to take the top spot on goal difference - with Jay Tabb and Eddie Hutchison on the scoresheet, to the delight of manager Martin Allen.

Oldham have been the team to watch this season - and they are level on points with Brentford after a 4-1 victory over Chesterfield.

Guy Branston and Andy Liddle had given The Latics a fine start with goals inside the opening five minutes, and a brace from Paul Warne rendered Derek Niven's goal a mere consolation.

Bristol City went 4-0 up inside 28 minutes, but ended up winning 4-2 against Port Vale to finally get their first win of the season.

Stephen Brooker grabbed a brace with Marcus Stewart and Scott Murray also on the scoresheet.

Nathan Lowndes and Michael Bell grabbed The Valiants' goals.

Marcus Browning's own goal gave Gillingham a 1-0 win against Bournemouth, whilst Blackpool were held to a goalless draw by Swindon.

Robbie Williams' penalty handed Barnsley a 1-0 win over bottom side Yeovil, and at Hartlepool, Antony Sweeney gave the hosts a 1-1 draw after Chris Westwood's opener for Walsall.

Aaron Wilbraham opened the scoring for MK Dons, but Liam Chilvers levelled in a 1-1 draw with Colchester that saw Aidan Davison dismissed.

Scunthorpe gave Nottingham Forest a miserable day, with Billy Sharp grabbing the only goal in a 1-0 victory at The City Ground.

Deon Burton was on target for Rotherham, but his 81st minute goal was cancelled out on 84 minutes by veteran Dean Windass as Bradford earned a 1-1 draw.

Freddy Eastwood's goal was cancelled out by Pawel Abbot as Southend drew 1-1 with Huddersfield.

Eastwood was then dismissed on 52 to complete a mixed day for him.
