Angel Rangel insists that the Swans can get better after the confidence boost from their Tuesday night performance

Rangel was as frustrated as anyone else that the Swans had been unable to turn their total dominance of Tuesday's game into the victory they deserved but insists that should they perform like that again against Coventry on Saturday they will win the game.

Speaking after the game, Rangel said “Fans have been unhappy and you can understand it

“Last year was our first year at this level, but we had such a great season we set very high standards for ourselves.

“They rightly expect us to have had a much better start than we have so far, but it’s been difficult.

“But perhaps they saw on Tuesday, especially in the second half, we are proving that we are getting better.

“We’re still not 100 per cent, but we stepped it up and we created the chances – it was more like Swansea City we are used to.

“After the disappointments that was important, but we knew we could play better than we did in the first few games and we know we can do better again. We are confident of that, confidence is not a problem.

“The games and the results are past already and we will look forward.

“The results have been disappointing, and Tuesday was frustrating because we had so many chances. To get the winning goal would have been perfect for us – but I think the performance was important.

“We know we had pressure on us and we needed that performance to get the team and the fans united again and show we can go forward.

“We can be happy with the way we defended because the clean sheet was important after conceding five goals in two games.

“Now we must look to scoring goals – but we know if we can keep doing the same things as we did on Tuesday, we will win at Coventry.”
