Terry Skiverton is hoping that the loan signing of Shaun MacDonald will see the Glovers strike further links with the Swans

MacDonald sealed his second loan spell at Yeovil yesterday after spending an impressive month at the League One outfit in 2008, scoring twice in four outings.

With the likes of Ferrie Bodde and Joe Allen returning to fitness, the Welshman has dropped down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium.

Skiverton told BBC Somerset: "I've had very close dealings with Paulo Sousa who has very kindly allowed this connection with us now.

"I've got to thank everyone down at Swansea, especially Huw Jenkins and Paulo Sousa who I've had dialogue with, in getting Shaun.

"We want to build up a relationship with clubs like them, because they play good football and they do it the right way and they are producing some very good young players.

"He's someone that I've been chasing since pre-season. I've been to watch three or four of Swansea's games.

"The beginning of his loan spell was when we went on that unbeaten run if I remember rightly.

"He was right at the beginning of that and unfortunately he did a little bit too well for us and he got called back into their first team and we went on a bit of a slump after that.

"But he was an excellent player for us and one that I know can come straight into the squad and be someone who can perform to a very high level, especially in playing for Yeovil."
