Rodgers - It's Been A Fantastic Week Sunday, 25th Jul 2010 06:56 Brendan Rodgers believes that victory over Cheltenham ended what was a fantastic week for him The new Swansea City manager enjoyed a warm reception from the 5,000+ Liberty Stadium crowd on Saturday and then watched his team defeat Cheltenham in their only home friendly. Speaking after the game to the official site, Rodgers said "We scored one, created many chances and with a bit more luck could have scored a few more
"I said at half-time whether it's Cheltenham Town from League Two, a Championship side or even a Premier League side, that's how the game will end up.
"It's important that we control and dominate the game - that's our style and how we play football so on that side I was happy with that contribution.
"There are areas to improve but we created many chances which was pleasing. "It was a great bit of skill and a fantastic strike for the goal," he added.
"I watched Stephen a few times when he was on loan at Blackpool last season.
"He is a massive talent and you could see by his celebration how much it meant to him.
"He can score goals; that's for sure. I said to him afterwards that if he watches TV tonight he won't see a much better goal than that." Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
