Paul Lambert has done his homework on the Swans and is ready for the test they provide this Saturday

The Norwich City manager was speaking to their official website ahead of the visit of Swansea this weekend.

Lambert - who masterminded an opening day hammering for Norwich last season before switching to Carrow Road and leading them to the League One title - believes that the Swans will provide a tough test for his team.

"Your home form is vital, the more home games you can win, it makes it that little bit easier when you go away from home." said Lambert

"You have to try and take care of your home games and then anything you get away is a bonus. There is no doubt how vital it is.

"The only stat that really interests me is whether we win. If a team can pass the ball 700 times, but get beat 4-0 then it is irrelevant.

"They definitely play football the right way and this is a really tough game there's no doubt about it. They will pass it around, so we have to be ready for it and also implement our own game.

"I never really worry about the opposition, I know they had a really good result last week but as I've said before we are in this league for a reason and all our hard work last year has earned us the right to play them.

"You're going to have to play them at some stage whether it's the beginning middle or the end of the season, we're going to have to play these sorts of teams.

"The cup you make no apologies for because you want to progress as best you can and we now have tough games ahead in the league. But we've earned the right to do it and we'll enjoy it, but the only way you start to do that is when you're winning and that's what we'll try and do on Saturday."
