It's up to you Ryan Hall...Ryan Hall...
It's up to you Ryan Hall...Ryan Hall...

Just days after forgetting his existence, Brian McDermott insists Ryan Hall still has a chance at ER.

The future prognosis at Leeds for Hall looked pretty grim, although he was granted extra leave following the birth of his first child, he is yet to feature in any of our pre-season games.

In a recent interview with Brian McDermott, the Leeds boss appeared to bemoan the presence of any wingers, citing just Aidy White who arguably is a left-back.

However McDermott took the opportunity today to clarify the situation regarding Elland Road's forgotten man.

The Leeds chief said: “I’ve spoken to Ryan and I’ve told him to get his head down, get himself as fit as he possibly can and get himself back into the squad.

“He needs to do the best he can but I’ve had a good conversation with him and he’s had his baby recently as well. It was important to make sure that things were done right as far as that was concerned.

“Time will tell with that but he’s part of things here, he’ll work hard and we’ll see what happens.”

Hall arrived at Leeds initially on-loan from Southend little under a year ago and it has been a forgettable 12months save a sparkling performance in our 4-2 win over Huddersfield.

Neil Warnock, who eventually signed him for around £150,000 in January described him as "one for the future" despite the fact he has turned 25.

Warnock, who released him whilst he was in charge at Crystal Palace didnt really give him much of a look-in and McDermott has hardly made him the focal point of his plans despite our lack of natural width.

To be honest, what little I've seen of Hall hardly had me wetting myself with excitement on the corner of my seat and I would not at all be surprised orvtgat sad if he was moved on,
