Haigh's LUST for lunch?
Haigh's LUST for lunch?
Friday, 26th Jul 2013 23:34

David Haigh has apparently invited the Leeds United Supporters Trust to lunch in a phone-call made minutes after Ken Bates''s departure was announced.

There most certainly was no love lost between the former Leeds Chairman and the organisation known as LUST. LUST were focal campaigners in the movement against Bates, which really stirred into life at the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

Despite claiming to represent 9000 fans, Bates refused to recognise them and described them as "self appointed nobodies" and "a pain in the arse". Bates also claimed there was ill-feeling between LUST and LUDO, the Leeds United Disabled Supporters Organisation, something both groups denied.

Bates also personally attacked the credentials of Hull-based LUST chairman Gary Cooper, revealing details of his financial affairs.

However the speed that David Haigh got on the phone to Cooper after Bates's shock exit tonight shows the club owners are keen to get everybody on board.

A clearly delighted Gary Cooper tweeted: "Great news that the dark shadow cast across our club for so long is now gone, the past is now firmly the past. It truly is now time to build our future united and #MOT thanks for the call, see you next week.”
