Swans Linked With Move For West Brom Man
Saturday, 24th Aug 2013 23:21

Swansea City have been linked with a move for West Broms Peter Odemwingie and reports in the Midlands suggest that the Liberty Stadium is the preferred destination for the player with other bids also in from Stoke City and Cardiff City.

Odemwingie was one of the highlights of the January transfer window when the player headed South to Queens Park Rangers declaring he was happy to sign for them only to find that QPR didn't want to sign him and he was effectively frozen out by West Brom as a result.

Cardiff have been heavily linked with him during the summer and are now reported - along with Stoke - to have made a £2m bid for the player whilst the Swans bid is reported to be £1.8m but they are also said to be where the player wants to end up.

Michael Laudrup has long stated his ambition to add another striker to the squad as a back up to record signing Wilfried Bony and Odemwingie fits the bill of a different kind of striker giving us another option up front if we can secure a deal for the player who has less than twelve months to run on his Albion contract.

The story was broken by the Birmingham Mail and West Midlands reporter for the Telegraph John Percy also tweeted the following two Tweets on the subject

Could be an interesting last week of the window at the Liberty
