George Moncur has formally joined the U's from West Ham on an initial one-month loan.

The loan will end on Thursday 7th August, two days before the U's opening league fixture against Oldham Athletic.

While the 20-year-old will not make a competitive appearance during his stay, it will give the midfielder a chance to impress the U's manager, with Joe Dunne considering taking him on loan long-term from the Hammers.

Moncur is expected to feature in tonight's friendly at Heybridge Swifts, after playing 45 minutes against Brantham at the weekend.
