It'll Be None Of Them...
Thursday, 18th Jun 2015 08:00 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

As the days pass the Swans seem to be linked with endless strikers - some of them links made by the press and some of them wishful thinking from Swans fans but I just can't help but think that none of them will end up signing.

One of the many things that the club have become excellent at in recent seasons is keeping a transfer deal under wraps until it actually happens. We have seen it many times and you just wonder whether all this transfer rumour activity is quite happily keeping the work that they could be doing elsewhere off the radar completely.

It genuinely would not surprise me if we found out in a week's time that the Swans had secured the signature of a known striker that nobody has linked with us leaving the press to link other teams with the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Loic Remy and Giovanni Simeone.

The Swans are a team that like to do things their own way and there is little doubt in my mind that we are progressing towards the players that we want and having conversations with their clubs and representatives to try and get a deal done as soon as possible.

With pre-season training looming large on the horizon in just a couple of weeks time it is almost guaranteed that Garry Monk will want his new players on board before the players report back ensuring that he gets the maximum time of them all together to prepare

And when that pre-season training starts I am convinced that we will see not the likes of Rhodes and Remy in the squad but a player who we - at this point in time - have not been linked to.

That is not to say that the name may not be linked tomorrow or the next day but at the moment I don't think we are reading anything other than general press speculation rather than genuine interest and approaches from the Swans to the players mentioned.

Let's see what the next week or so brings but I'll stake my money on it being 'someone unknown' who will take the striking berth rather than someone we have been linked with
