Finally we have news of good wins for both Arsenal and Manchester United but Chelsea need a penalty shoot out to win against Paris St Germain

Paris St Germain 1 Chelsea 1 (Chelsea win 6-5 on penalties)

Chelsea drew their game in PSG and were reliant on penalties to hand them eventual victory.

Thibaut Courtois saved two penalties and score the winner to secure the win for the Premier League champions who had seen Victor Moses strike cancel out Zlatan Ibrahimovic opener for PSG.

Barcelona 1 Manchester United 3

Manchester United beat defending European Champions 3-1 in an entertaining encounter.

Goals from Wayne Rooney, Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj gave Man Utd the win with Rafinha scoring late on for Barca

Louis Van Gaal: “The balance of the team is the most important thing. Last year we won against the Champions League winner, it was Real [Madrid] at that time. Now we win against Barcelona so it is possible, but we also had a bit of luck. Three balls hit the post but I was pleased with our performance. Also in the second half, when the youngsters came in, you saw a spirit. We had the same amount of chances as Barcelona and that I like the most today.”

Arsenal 6 Lyon 0

It was the six shooting Gunners who caught the eye on Saturday as they destroyed French side Lyon in the Emirates Cup.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey gave the home side a 4-0 lead at the break and goals were added in the second half from Mesut Ozil and Santi Carzola.

Arsene Wenger: “It was a good, dynamic, collective performance where we could see that many players scored goals. Overall it’s in the continuity of what we did at the end of last season, and we’ve taken that form into pre-season as well. There’s a good team dynamic and we’ve shown again that we can score goals, which is what everybody expects from us.”
