Graziano Pelle looks to be a doubt for Saints visit to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday evening.

Graziano Pelle is a major doubt for the trip to MK Dons after picking up a foot injury during the defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.

“Most of the players are good physically,” Ronald Koeman confired on the club's official website. “Only one doubt is Pellè because he had a kick on his foot. We have to wait for the reaction from today (Tuesday) and that decision we will make on Wednesday morning.”

Although losing Pelle would be a blow, Saints have plenty of options to replace him, Koeman could opt for Jay Rodriguez, Shane Long or Sadio Mane all of whom could play in the position albeit slightly differently to the way that Pelle plays.

Indeed a big factor in Pelle's goal drought after the new year must have been the fact he was forced to play week in week out with the manager having little other options to give him a rest.

Hopefully the injury is not too bad and with a rest on Wednesday will be fit and raring to go on Saturday.
