Koeman Reveals That Saints Could Strengthen In January

Ronald Koeman has revealed that Saints may well strengthen in the January transfer window, but what areas does he consider a priority ?

Saints could well have an addition or two to the squad in the New Year despite Ronald Koeman previously saying that they would not be in the market.

That was probably only a smokescreen, but he has now revealed that he could well be looking to add an attacking option with Jay Rodriguez recovery not certain in terms of either timescale or form.

That will lead to speculation that Charlie Austin could be a target.

Speaking at this afternoons press conference ahead of the trip to Crystal Palace Koeman said.

“We are looking,” he said. “Always we are looking what we can do to make the squad stronger.

“But we’re not about to do many changes in the team. If we need somebody it will be an offensive player. The rest, we have really good competition in our squad and you know that nobody is for sale.”
