Clucas Deal Moves Closer?
Sunday, 20th Aug 2017 08:15 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

It looks like Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas could be set for a Liberty Stadium switch after he was omitted from his club's 2-1 defeat at QPR yesterday 'in preparation for a move away from the club'

Clucas has been the subject of transfer speculation this week with reports that both Burnley and Swansea have had bids for the player turned down with the Swans seeing him as able to fill at least some of the hole created by the departure of Gylfi Sigurdsson in midweek.

Hull manager Leonid Slutsky yesterday left Clucas out of the side and confirmed after the game that it was because the player is preparing to play for another club which certainly says that either us or Burnley will be happy in the next couple of days

Clucas has been a target for the Swans ever since speculation increased over the future of Sigurdsson and I can certainly see this one turning into a permanent move before next weekend when we visit Crystal Palace.

“Clucas is preparing to play for another club,” Slutsky said. “I think a deal has been agreed. It is his decision not to play today, but in the next days I think a deal will be announced.

“It is a Premier League club. I think it is a decision all together but it was his as well.”
